CareersPortal.co.za had a chat with the Head of Division for Engineering Studies at False Bay College, regarding their different courses.

False Bay's Engineering NCV programmes are presented at two campuses: Westlake Campus and Khayelitsha Campus. These Engineering programmes are for a three-year length.

NCV Engineering Course Entry Requirements

These programs start at NCV level 2 and also the least requirement would then be Grade 9 certificate with a pass in Arithmetic.

As soon as the student finishes NCVLevel two, they would then have attained a grade ten certificate. NCV Level three would be grade 11 and NCV Level 4 is grade twelve.

NCV Level 4 is at the exit level, being equivalent to a Nationwide Senior Certificate (NSC).

Grade 9 is on NQF level one. Our NCV programmes start NCV level 2 which is equivalent to an NQF level 2.

On which kind of students are suited to these programmes, they say that the world is acknowledging that common read more schooling is not really always the one way of becoming an artisan or getting experienced so if a student knows from an early age what their pursuits are, the NCV programme is really perfectly fitted to that student.

False Bay TVET College will assist the student to become qualified in his field of interest. Students who want to become entrepreneurs will also have access to their Centre of Entrepreneurship on the Westlake Campus.
